An executive app view has one job: help a busy leadership group decide what to protect, fund, or stop. When the same screen also tries to coach every squad, nobody leaves with a shared story.
We ask three questions before any chart earns a place. Does it change a decision this quarter? Can two departments define it the same way? Is the number stable enough that a weekly wobble will not create false alarms?
Retention cohorts often belong; raw event volume rarely does. Funnel completion rates belong when the product owner and finance agree on the same start and end events. Vanity traffic totals usually stay downstairs.
In Kanchanaburi and Bangkok engagements alike, the breakthrough is often subtraction. Removing three noisy panels does more for trust than adding a fourth color. If a metric needs a paragraph of caveats every meeting, it is not ready for the executive page.
Start with a short list of twelve candidates, run them through the three questions, and keep five to seven. That is enough for a briefing and sparse enough that the room can still talk.
